Stage 2 of the Northern Area Plan Examination in Public (EIP), dealing with site-specific objections, commenced on Monday the 23rd of January 2012 in Ballymoney Town Hall, Townhead Street, Ballymoney. The Commission’s opening statement is attached below.
The EIP will initially focus on the council areas of Coleraine and Ballymoney before going on to consider representations focused on the council areas of Limavady and Moyle. Objectors should note that the programme for Moyle council area will now commence on Tuesday the 13th of March 2012 and not the 12th of March as previously indicated. The revised programme is attached below. Any additional changes or amendments in programming will be place on the website.

The Third Pre-Examination Meeting was held in Ballymoney Town Hall on Tuesday 29th of November. Attached below are the PowerPoint presentation and speaking notes from that meeting.

The Public Examination into Stage 1 of the process, dealing with Strategic Plan Matters, ended on the 6th of October 2011. No further evidence should be submitted in respect of Strategic Matters.

The Department indicated by letter dated 18 July 2011 that it has withdrawn a number of policies contained within the draft plan. These are set out in the letter attached below and in addition to those withdrawn in the Department's letter of 19 April 2011, which is also attached. As previously stated, the Commission will not comment on or deal with any objections or counter-objections relating to the withdrawn plan policies.
The Department's Housing Analysis Paper, updating information on total housing provision in the Plan Area at March 2011, is attached below along with an accompanying letter.
