Objections to Proposed Green Belt and Countryside Policy Area Designations
Following the publication of Planning Policy Statement 21 - Sustainable Development in the Countryside, the Department has confirmed that it intends to withdraw the proposed Greenbelt/Countryside Policy Area designations in draft MAP. Consequently, objections to these designations will not be considered by the Commission.

The last session of the Public Examination of the draft Magherafelt Area Plan 2015 took place on 17 June 2009.
The Commissioners are considering the information presented before completing their report and making their recommendations to the Department. The timescale for delivery of the report is the end of 2010. Any updates will be announced on this website.
The Commissioners would like to thank all who participated in the Examination.
