The last BMAP Public Inquiry session took place in May 2008. The Commission had indicated at the close of the Inquiry that it hoped to complete the report by early summer 2010 but due to the number of objections and the scope and complexity of the issues they raise, the Commission has reviewed its programme and now aims to present its report to the Department by the end of March 2011.

Report on Strategic Retail Issues
The Commission received a letter from the Department dated 2 October 2008 requesting early release of that part of the BMAP Report relating to strategic retail issues. The Commission took the view that this was a discrete issue and, as the public sessions of the Inquiry were complete, it could comply with the Department's request. Accordingly, it wrote to the Department on 17 October 2008 agreeing to the release of this part of the report in early 2009.
The Commission issued the report to the Department on 21 January 2009.
Release of the Commission report is a matter for the Department.
